How to use Pearl Effect Mermaid Gel Polish
GELDANCE gel polish is a soak-off colour system: base, two thin coats of colour and a top coat, each cured in the lamp.
What you need
- Base coat and top coat
- GELDANCE gel polish
- UV/LED lamp
- 180-grit buffer
- Prep & wipe solution and lint-free pads
Step by step
Prep the nail
Push back the cuticle, remove non-living tissue and lightly buff the shine off the nail plate. Dust off and cleanse with prep solution.
Apply base coat
Brush on a thin layer of base coat, cap the free edge and keep it off the skin. Cure under a UV or LED lamp for the time your lamp recommends.
First colour coat
Shake or roll the bottle, then apply a thin, even coat of colour. Stay clear of the cuticle and side walls. Cure under a UV or LED lamp for the time your lamp recommends.
Second colour coat
Apply a second thin coat for full, even colour and cap the free edge. Cure under a UV or LED lamp for the time your lamp recommends.
Seal with top coat
Apply top coat over the colour and cap the edge. Cure under a UV or LED lamp for the time your lamp recommends. Wipe the sticky layer if your top coat is not no-wipe.
Finish
Apply cuticle oil to the skin around the nail.
Pro tips
- Two thin coats wear better than one thick coat.
- For cat eye shades, hold the magnet close for 5–10 seconds before curing.
- Keep bottles away from light so the gel does not thicken.
Avoid
- Do not let gel touch the skin; uncured gel can cause sensitivity.
- Do not apply thick layers, which can wrinkle or lift.
Removal & aftercare
File away the shine of the top layer, then wrap each nail in a cotton pad soaked in acetone or gel remover for 10–15 minutes. Gently push the softened product off with a cuticle pusher, never peel or pry. Finish with cuticle oil.
